Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2012

Dear Parents,

The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is taking place on Friday, 27^th January 2012 in the Downtown Dubai area.  GEMS Wellington Academy would like to encourage as many students as possible to be a part of this International event by participating in the 3km Fun Run, which starts at 10:30 am adjacent to Burj Khalifa.

This year, the only way to register for the event is through online registration so if you would like for your son/ daughter to take part, you will need to visit http://www.dubaimarathon.org/ and click on ‘2012 Race Registration’ in order to complete the online form.   The cost of registration for the 3km Fun Run is 15USD which is approximately 60 AED.  The deadline for all registrations is on the 31^st December, 2011.

Once registered, you will receive a confirmation e-mail which will be required in order to collect the runner number and T-shirt from the Address Hotel Dubai Mall on either Wednesday 25^th or Thursday 26^th January between 9:00am and 9:00pm.   

We would like to complete the 3km Fun Run as a school; once registered, kindly return the attached information slip so we are aware that your son/daughter would like to complete the Fun Run with us.   Details of where we are going to meet will become available close to the date.
