Encounter Day- Tuesday 15th November
KS3 students participated in the first GEMS Wellington Academy Encounter Day on Tuesday, 15th November. Under the theme of flight, students worked in teams to carry out a series of tasks on rockets, finishing off the day with a competition to see whos rocket would travel the furthest distance.

Congratulations and Well Done to our KS3 Stars of the Term!

November is poetry month! GEMS schools will be buzzing with poetry for the whole month and we'd like everyone to get involved. You'll see poetry all around the school and it would be fantastic if you could share your favourite poems with the children and encourage them to share some with you.
The GEMS National Day poem
The GEMS schools in Dubai will be working together to write a poem which celebrates UAE National Day on 2nd December.
House competition - We will be launching a house competition to write WSO's verse. Pupils should write a poem about National Day which celebrates the growth of the UAE from Sheikh Zayed's original vision to the present day. The WSO verse will be taken from the winning entry or will be a combination of lines from several entries.
Each day pupils will read a poem and this will be posted here. Also, they'll be writing poetry in lessons so please ask your son or daughter to share what they have written with you!
